The South East Climate Alliance invites you to an online meeting about methane.
Guest speakers include SECA members Danny Lee (Petersfield Climate Action Network) and Emily Mott (Weald Action Group) as well as James Turitto (Clean Air Task Force). The session will be facilitated by Jill Sutcliffe.
Methane is the second biggest contributor to global warming behind carbon dioxide. It is the main component of fossil gas – and it leaks, or is intentionally vented, from oil sites and other coal, oil and gas infrastructure.
Last year researchers from Clean Air Task Force, an international climate advocacy NGO, discovered significant methane emissions from oil and gas facilities in the Weald and other parts of the UK.
