High Court to hear Dunsfold judicial review request on 2 March

On 2 March, campaigners from Protect Dunsfold and Waverley Borough Council will be at the High Court, asking the Court to allow a judicial review of the decision by the government in June 2022 to permit exploration for gas in Dunsfold. Surrey County Council’s planning committee had twice rejected this project.

The opposition to UKOG has come from Borough and County Councillors of different ‘stripes’, local residents’ groups like Protect Dunsfold and Don’t Drill Dunsfold, supported by Waverley Friends of the Earth, the Weald Action Group and Extinction Rebellion. The national campaign organisation the Good Law Project is supporting Protect Dunsfold in its legal case.

Campaigners will be outside  the High Court in London on the morning of 2 March to demonstrate  solidarity in opposition to this project and our determination to work together with and in support of those who can imagine a better future.
